This project was made for my Digital Cultures & Narrative class at UCF. As with my previous project, I utilized Clip Studio Paint for the sprite asset creation. Additionally, I used a photo-editing software named FotoSketcher to transform the background images into a painted style with a filter.

With First Day, my goal was to experiment with Ren'Py customization in order to create a more personalized visual novel.

➤ Implemented custom textboxes for each character by modifying Ren'Py screens.
➤ Added music artist credits to the in-game about screen.
➤ Experimented with custom UI colors by tinkering with GUI files.
➤ Modified the character Gosfrid to have a unique font that highlights his personality.

In the future, I plan to expand this project into a full game. In the original concept for this visual novel, you play as a therapist for psychics who is starting his practice in a new city. Due to the time and scope constraints of the project, I decided it would be best to expand this project at a later date on my own time.
